Healthy Bellies Bingo a hit!

While children quickly engage with our Game On! physical activities, it isn’t always easy to transition to Healthy Communities activities.

Utilising our strategy of making our health education sessions fun and interactive, Jess, one of our awesome Recreation Coordinators, recently developed a new activity for our Healthy Bellies sessions - Food Group Bingo.  We started trialling this in communities in July.

“The kids were locked in from the start. They were excited, shouting out food names, helping each other and begging to play ‘just one more round’ every time the game ended. It’s proving a really effective way to teach the kids about the food groups in a way that feels like play not a lesson.” reported Jess.
