Paige’s Story

Paige is from Derby in the Kimberley and while studying Sport Science at UWA did an internship with Fair Game working on the sports equipment recycling program.

This included processing requests for equipment.  She was delighted one day to be able to fill an order from Nyikina Mangala Community School, which she knows as it has close ties to Derby.  Once she finishes her masters degree, Paige plans to return to her community in Derby and teach sports and health.

“I wanna work with teenagers mainly.  With our health, for Aboriginals, it’s not that great and I just want to educate myself on the different types of health and learning strategies so that when I’m confident enough I can go back to my community and teach there.”
