Dreams can come true
Fama Toure started playing AFL at the age of 9 when she stopped to watch players for the Edmund Rice Lions team practicing in her local park and was invited to join in.
Despite playing in her school shoes, Fama quickly took to the game.
Fama has received a number of pairs of boots through Fair Game’s Recycle & Donate program over the years, enabling her to pursue her love of footy.
At the Telethon Live event this year, Fama was invited to tell her story before meeting her AFL hero – Nic Naitanui – who made a surprise guest appearance.
Telethon funding is supporting the continuing growth of the Recycle & Donate program giving thousands of children each year the pre-loved equipment they need to play the sports they love.
Check out our Sports Equipment page to find out where you can donate items.
