Elizabeth Chester
Elizabeth joined the Fair Game Board in 2020 to contribute her skills and experience in communications, fundraising, stakeholder relations and the not-for-profit sector.
Liz is the Director of External Affairs at The Kids Research Institute, a medical research institute that tackles the most devastating, common and costly diseases and issues affecting our children and young people.
Born in Mount Barker, Western Australia, she spent her childhood in Albany. She majored in politics and history at Curtin University while pursuing her career in journalism, working in print, radio and television. She has worked as a presenter and producer in commercial radio and for Channels 9 and 7. She has also worked as a corporate media consultant, and as a press secretary in the State Government.
Elizabeth started with The Kids Research Institute in 2000, working with 2003 Australian of the Year Professor Fiona Stanley to advocate for funding and policy change on major health issues to improve the lives of children and families.
She now leads the communications, marketing, fundraising, community engagement and government relations portfolios at the Institute, which is home to more than 750 scientists, staff and postgraduate students.
Elizabeth has been recognised by the Public Health Assoc (WA) with the Significant Contribution to Public Health Award (2018) for her outstanding contribution to public health and a genuine commitment to support and enrich the public health sector in WA.
