2021 – Medal of the Order of Australia
Fair Game founder and Patron, Dr John van Bockxmeer, awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division for service to medicine and the community – recognising John’s passionate advocacy to improve equity and health autonomy to remote communities through the founding of Fair Game in 2011, as well as his exceptional performance in providing quality, compassionate advocacy to improve equitable care during his nine years with the WA Country Health Service.
2021 – WA Young Volunteer of the Year
WA Young Volunteer of the Year awarded to Senior Fair Gamer and Fair Game Board Director – Riley Dolman
Riley trained as a Fair Game volunteer in 2017 and started taking part in regional trips to deliver health education and fitness programs to children in remote communities across Western Australia. He quickly progressed to be a Senior Fair Gamer and Trip Leader, taking charge of teams of volunteers for week-long regional trips. As well as being a Trip leader, Riley holds a volunteer position on Fair Game’s Board of Directors where he acts as Secretary, and attends and contributes to monthly Board meetings. Riley is a fantastic role model and provides inspiration to Fair Game’s volunteers, participants and the local Kununurra community where he is now based.
2019 – WA Community Volunteering Organisation of the Year
WA Community Volunteering Organisation of the Year – Presented to a community organisation that provides innovative leadership through good practice in volunteering and brings about positive and enduring change to their community 2018 Commonwealth Points of Light Award given by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of exceptional volunteer work establishing the charity Fair Game 2018 Supporting Volunteers Winner – Sport and Recreation Industry Award.
